Media Invest/AJEPC in Hong Kong to establish new partnerships

Meetings in Cyberport HK.

Last Monday, October 23rd, Media Invest Group, in partnership with AJEPC – Associação de Jovens Empresários Portugal China, met with high representatives from several companies in Hong Kong, namely InvestHK, Young Entrepreneur Taskforce, Cyberport, Microsoft and HKTDC, beginning the last stage of Mission Global China 2017.

With the goal of establishing new partnerships and business opportunities, representatives of Media Invest Group met with Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), a company dedicated to promote business events in Hong Kong. Also in the same day, we met with WHub, a private owned organization whose goal is to promote development, and to create a large network of business opportunities. Media Invest Group is set to work with WHub, helping to promote the startups’ ecosystems from Hong Kong through its virtual reality event and other online channels.

The Group also met with the President of StartmeupHK Team of InvestHK, a company whose purpose is to attract and engage international investments, contributing to the economical development of Hong Kong. In this meeting a future partnership is being discussed to help Portuguese entrepreneurs finding investment and business opportunities in the Asia-Pacific market.

On October 24th, Media Invest Group met with the Head of International Collaboration and Business Development at Hong Kong Science and Technology Park (HKSTP) to discuss the promotion opportunities for innovation and technology development of this startup hub.

The second meeting of the day was with Cyberport Manager and Senior Manager, and also with the Chairman of Young Entrepreneur Taskforce. Cyberport is an innovative digital community that works with more than 900 technology companies and belongs to the Hong Kong Government. Young Entrepreneurs Taskforce goal is to boost global entrepreneurship and build bridges between entrepreneurs and global markets in areas like business, education and services, gender equality, sustainability and social inclusion.

Media Invest Group also had the opportunity to learn about the future of Hong Kong’s ecosystem growth, a project in line with the Chinese Government initiative, to create an economic and business area known as “Greater Bay Area”. This region will connect 11 cities: Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Zhongshan, Dongguan, Huizhou, Jiangmen and Zhaoqing, helping to create an area with more than 56.500 km2, boosting the innovation and technology sectors all across China.

At Cyberport there was also a meeting with Microsoft Hong Kong where a potential partnerships was discussed.

Mission Global China 2017 began on October 16th with a presence at the Macao International Trade and Investment Fair, continuing to Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and lastly Beijing. The mission ended in October 26th with the return to Lisbon.
